PBJ & Jazz: Jammies Jam

It’s the coziest PBJ & Jazz concert we’ve ever hosted! Kids and parents alike are invited to join the Crossbop Collective for a pajama party at the Lincoln Theatre. Led by sensational saxophonist Robert Dove, their mix of fun and energetic jazz tunes make this a PJ party unlike any you’ve ever seen.

Join us as we introduce Ashley Pezzotti, a fast-rising star on the national jazz scene who is already distinguishing herself as “a singer’s singer,” and an accomplished songwriter whose works exhibit the craft and sensibility of the Great American Songbook.

Community Jazz: Brooklyn Rose Future Jazz Orchestra
The Brooklyn Rose Future Jazz Orchestra, an adventurous supergroup existing at the convergence of cathartic release and serene beauty. They combine such disparate influences as EDM producers, late-romantic composers, contemporary jazz icons, post-rock bands, and video game soundtracks to create music unlike anything that has been heard before. All That Jazz Virtual Concert
Welcome to the All That Jazz Virtual Concert! After spending so much time in class learning about the history and art of jazz, it’s time to see it all come together in a real jazz concert. The musicians in this video each call Columbus home and are proud to be presenting this 30-minute performance to you and your students.
Jazz at the Lincoln: Bobby Floyd & Joel Frahm
Due to unforeseen circumstances, pianist Benny Green will not be making his scheduled appearance this Thursday.
We are very excited to announce that Bobby Floyd will be joining Joel Frahm on the Lincoln stage. This is an incredible opportunity to hear world class talents from New York City and our own Columbus favorite as they come together for a spontaneous evening of music.
Bobby will be performing on an amazing Steinway Concert Grand piano and we will be bringing a B3 Organ to the Lincoln Theatre for this collaboration with Joel. Joel and Bobby are very excited to perform for you and an amazing night of music awaits!
Sundays at the Southern: Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra
The Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra take over the stage of the Southern Theatre every Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. to offer a ½-hour set of classic big band music prior to the start of the Columbus Jazz Orchestra performance at 3 p.m. The ½-hour CYJO pre-show concert is FREE with the CJO concert admission.
Jazz at the Southern: The Rolling Stones Project
The Rolling Stones songbook with a jazzy twist featuring two current members of the Rolling Stones’ backup band – saxophonist Tim Reis and vocalist Bernard Fowler.
Columbus City Schools JazzFest
Jazz bands throughout Columbus City Schools have been working hard all year preparing repertoire for the annual Columbus City Schools JazzFest. As their families enjoy a rotation of phenomenal musicians inside the Lincoln Theatre Ballroom, each band will be upstairs in the Jazz Academy warming up and participating in educational masterclasses to hone their skills as a jazz musician.

Columbus Community Jazz Band Final Performance
Join the Columbus Community Jazz Band for our return to live performances! Led by Jessica Sneeringer, the band is comprised of amateur, semi-pro and student musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds. This semester, the CCJB is performing selections by Basie, Golson, Rollins, and more in the Ballroom of the historic Lincoln Theatre! Join us in person or online for a night of swingin' big band tunes that showcase incredible talent from the Columbus Community.
Columbus Youth Jazz Final Concert
For eight weeks, middle and high school students across central Ohio have met to develop their skills as a jazz musician in our Columbus Youth Jazz Lab (CYJL) program. Many of these students joined us in the fall semester as well, showing their dedication to the art of jazz music. The CYJL works to expand each students’ abilities in jazz style, improvisation and overall technique through a combo-based curriculum. Join us at 2 PM for the CYJL final performance and witness the next great Columbus jazz musicians play for yourself.

Named one of Cleveland Magazine’s “Most Interesting People of 2021,” saxophonist/ composer/ educator Chris Coles brings his powerful meditation on the 2015 Charleston church shooting to the Lincoln Theatre for one show only. Combining jazz, spoken word and movement, audience and performers share a musical reflection on issues of social justice, racial inequality, and gun violence.
